Tea in the United States covers everything from a traditional Chinese or Japanese tea house to a Southern sweet-tea counter, and the fastest-growing segment is bubble tea: Taiwanese-style milk teas and fruit teas with tapioca pearls, sold by chains and independents alike with adjustable sugar and ice levels. Tea rooms serving afternoon tea with scones and sandwiches usually require a reservation, while boba shops, juice bars and smoothie shops are walk-in and quick. Kava and kombucha bars are a newer category, and loose-leaf tea stores sell blends, teaware and gifts, often with a tasting counter. Prices for a drink run similar to coffee-shop prices, with premium teas and cold-pressed juices at the high end.
Hours are published for 2 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 PMβ2 AM. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Tea Alley at (408) 217-9486; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.
Its Google rating is 4.0 out of 5 from 134 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.
San Jose is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Jose is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Stopped by Tea Alley in downtown SJ and got the passion fruit green tea, honestly really good and super refreshing. Not too sweet, just right. They got a lot of tea options plus Taiwanese snacks which I didnβt try this time but looked pretty good. Downtown doesnβt have that many boba spots so this place is kinda a lifesaver, esp when you just want something quick. Also they open super late (like 2am??), perfect if youβre up late or just randomly craving boba at night. Place is small but chill, nothing fancy. Service was fine, got my drink pretty fast. Iβd come back again for sure. Highly recommend if you in the area.

Donβt get the garlic fries! THEY ARE LITERALLY MINCED GARLIC PILED ON TOP OF FRIES which was kind of comical but also tasted bad and sour lol. Tea was just okay (KitKat boba is just small amount of crushed kitkats in regular milk tea, and peach green tea was nice!)

We visited Tea Alley on a busy friday night. If you're a fan of milk tea, this place is an absolute must-try! Located in a busy corner of the city, this milk tea shop not only serves up some of the most delicious drinks but also boasts a team of incredibly talented baristas. The highlight of my visit was definitely Ki - the bubbly enthusiastic barista. Her skill and attention to detail were evident in every cup. She was more than happy to recommend the best combinations based on our preferences, and the end result was nothing short of perfection. Whether it's the perfectly brewed tea, the balance of sweetness, or the velvety texture of the milk, every sip felt like a small moment of joy. I also appreciated the wide variety of toppings and flavors available. From classic tapioca pearls to unique fruit-based options (e.g lychee), thereβs something for everyone. The shop itself has a laid-back, welcoming vibe, making it a perfect spot for a quick break or a relaxing hangout. And with such an attentive barista, it's clear they really care about delivering the best experience possible. Highly recommend this place for any milk tea enthusiastβgreat drinks, excellent service, and a tal

Late-night adventures often carry an aura of spontaneity and thrill, and my recent visit to Tea Alley in San Jose encapsulated this perfectly. Nestled in the heart of the city, Tea Alley stands out with its vibrant ambiance, beckoning night owls to indulge in its offerings until the wee hours of the morning. With a 2am closing time, it brings a unique allure to those craving a late-night bite or sip. The boba aficionados and casual tea drinkers alike find solace in this haven, where the hum of conversation mixes with the clinking of cups β a symphony that characterizes the late-night life. The highlight of my nocturnal exploration was undoubtedly their fried milk. This delectable treat, which seamlessly blends creamy sweetness with a crisp texture, is the epitome of culinary brilliance. Each bite offers a delightful contrast between the outer crunch and the silky, smooth insides, making it an unforgettable indulgence. Paired with one of Tea Alleyβs signature tea blends, the fried milk becomes more than just a snack; it transforms into a late-night delicacy that caters to both comfort food enthusiasts and dessert lovers. As the night wore on, the atmosphere at Tea Alley remained i

Ordering online was quick and easy. Received a text message to confirm my order has been received on their end. The place is down town so you may have to find parking on Santa Clara Ave. My order was ready for pick up. As far as taste goes my teas were great. I would come here again. I think the cups are a great size.
